Mozambique: Neither war nor peace (DIEEEI05-2016)

Although for many years Mozambique’s post conflict process has been considered as exemplary, in this country several agents and circumstances combine causing instability. The episodes of armed violence are increasing in number inviting alerting voices to a possible reopening of the civil war finished in 1992.

Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that the conflict has been escalating from October 2015, it continues to be a conflict of low intensity and this situation is not likely to change in the short-term, in spite of the existing circumstances that feed the instability in the country.
