Will China and the USA go to war? (DIEEEO40-2018)

According to the Thucydides Trap theory, scenarios where a rising power challenges another’s primacy tend to end in war. China’s ascent is undeniable; by some registers, it has already surpassed the US as the world’s leading economy. Asia-Pacific has a number of hot spots that may result in a conflict between the Chinese and the Americans: Taiwan, the South China Sea, and Korea. A cyber or financial conflict could also develop into a shooting war.
