The relationship between Spain and Chile: 1990-2013 (DIEEEO120-2015)

This article aims to study bilateral relationship between Spain and Chile since 1990, year in which the political normalization of official relations between the two countries started, until January 2013, date of signature between the Prime Ministers of New Spain-Chile Strategic Alliance.
In this context, Spanish-Chile relations in the field of Defense will be analyzed to explain the circumstances that led Chile´s request to Spain according to his purpose of cooperation with NATO, using the Spanish experience in the development of the Land Forces Doctrine. Such request profited from ties and common interests of historical nature, especially linguistic and cultural level.
We come to the conclusion that, at present, the cooperation between the two countries enjoys great health, assessing what it has been accomplished and the future options can be offered by the field of Defense.
