Bilateral relations between Spain and China (DIEEEM13-2018)

Spanish-Chinese diplomatic relations began in 1973, but until year 2000 Spain did not include Asia among Spanish Foreign Action priorities. Several bilateral treaties were signed before Spain joined the European Economic Community in 1986. From that date Spain benefited from the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation signed by the EEC in 1985. This document analyzes the evolution of bilateral relations in order to know the real interests of each country and understand nowadays bilateral relations status. Finally, some guidelines are suggested to develop bilateral relations.
