The IRAQ that was left behind (DIEEEA15-2012)

Last December the US troops left Iraq, after almost nine years of military presence in the country, leaving behind a complex political and security panorama. On March the 20th, the day of the ninth anniversary of the 2003 invasion, a new wave of terrorist actions was carried out, provoking dozens of deaths. The divisions among ethnics and the endemic violence are harming the development and reconciliation, and are specially worrying due to the current instability of the region, with the Iranian nuclear crisis and the Syrian civil war.
