The launching of Permanent Structured Cooperation: a new success in the security and defence of the European Union (DIEEEO32-2018)

The launching of permanent structured cooperation is one of the last successes of the European Union in the framework of security and defence in one of the most convulsive moments of its history. This article exposes the great steps that have taken place since November 13, 2017, analysing the principles and governance of permanent structured cooperation, as well as the commitments assumed by participating Member States. Finally, the article focuses on the role of Spain within the framework of this flexible and binding cooperation mechanism in defence.
