View of three representative US think tanks on US foreign policy in the Middle East (DIEEEO111-2015)

The paper analyzes the policy recommendations that three important American think tanks (Cato Institute, Rand and Center for Strategic and International Studies) make over the foreign policy the US is carrying out in the North Africa and Middle Eastern countries that have gone through the so-called Arab Spring. The work shows that, generally speaking, they follow a realist doctrine of military disengagement in the region, although they aim to provide stability in the area by changing the current economic models into others based on a neoliberal paradigm.
