Innovation (DIEEEO44-2018)

Very often innovation is exclusively linked to technology. However the study of history shows us that the necessary elements to produce innovative effects to transform large organizations such as the armies are many and varied. Technology is an essential material factor for innovation and often acts as a catalyst, but must be accompanied by strategic leadership that sets clear objectives, motivation and initiative of the human element and appropriate processes. It is possible to innovate in resource-limited settings if intellectual thinking is not constrained and initiative is fostered.
