Last year there have been geopolitical risks in the region where territorial disputes pitting the two major Asian economic powers, that also affect other Asia-pacific countries. Moreover, the North Korea’s nuclearization issue, China's pragmatic slow shift away posture of the Non-interference principle - one of the pillars of her foreign policy, the Chinese establishment of a new Air Defence and Identification Zone, together with a broader interpretation of Article Nine of the Japanese constitution which allows to extend her limits of self-defense, draw a geostrategic scenario where the military costs soar and a regional security structure devoted to preventing and resolving conflicts among neighboring states is missing.
