Opinion document: Vladimir Putin: Annual address to the Federal Assembly

Last November the 4th, the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, made his annual address to the Federal Assembly. An evident difference with regard to 2013 is that, while then the domestic policy occupied the first part of the speech, this year the international policy was mentioned first, undoubtedly as consequence of the serious crisis of Ukraine. In this document we summarize the main topics approached by the president on his address, we do a critical evaluation of the announced proposals, and we reach some conclusions about the Russia’s future, under conditions that Putin himself dubbed as difficult.
