Spain's interests in the Arctic (DIEEEO58-2016)

Climate change is not only affecting the environment, but plays a vital role in determining State’s interests in the XXI century. The melting of the Artic has led to changes in State’s attitudes. However, opposing interests make mutual understanding and resource management difficult. In this context, Spain must defend its interests in the framework of international law and security.
